After a couple of light slates recently, we have a packed one this week with 13 total games. One interesting thing about this slate is the astronomical price of Patrick Mahomes $7,600/Draftkings and $9.500/Fanduel. He is a full $1000 more expensive than the next quarterback on Draftkings and $800 more than the next guy on Fanduel. Week 13 also marks the return of the Rams to the main slate. This also means the return of deciding whether to play or fade Todd Gurley. With all of these high priced studs, finding the right Week 13 value plays will be crucial. Let’s see where the sales are this week.
QUARTERBACK – Matthew Stafford
20th Priced Quarterback on Fanduel ($6,700 out of $60,000)
16th Priced Quarterback on Draftkings ($5,400 out of $50,000)
You have really not heard much about Matthew Stafford this season. Each year he has been solid from a fantasy standpoint, but his production seems to have taken an unexpected dip this season. Right now he is only averaging 16.7 DK points per game and 15.6 FD points per game. Currently, the Lions are 10 point home underdogs to the Rams which could be favorable for Stafford’s fantasy production. I do have my concerns about what the Lions offense can do as a whole, but if they do fall behind early to this high powered Rams team, they will have no choice but to let Stafford go to the air.
RUNNING BACK – Tarik Cohen
22nd Priced Running Back on Fanduel ($6,100 out of $60,000)
12th Priced Running Back on Draftkings ($5,600 out of $50,000)
It is safe to say that Tarik Cohen is the clear cut number one running back in Chicago. The committee approach with Jordan Howard did not last long for the Bears as Cohen is a featured weapon in the running and passing game. Cohen is coming off a solid Thanksgiving day performance where he turned one of his eight targets into a receiving touchdown. Chase Daniel also missed him earlier in the game with what should have been a second touchdown for Cohen. This week he will face a Giants defense that has been getting ripped apart by running backs. Both Peyton Barber of the Bucs and Josh Adams of the Eagles ran wild against this Giants defensive front, each scoring a touchdown as well. Look for Cohen to continue that trend when the Bears travel to MetLife.
WIDE RECEIVER – Kenny Golladay
12th Priced Wide Receiver on Fanduel ($7.300 out of $60,000)
17th Priced Wide Receiver on Draftkings ($6,700 out of $50,000)
In the absence of Marvin Jones, Kenny Golladay has been a target machine. Over his last three games, he has seen a whopping 36 targets. This week he will face a not-so-great Rams secondary in a game where the Lions should find themselves trailing for the majority of the contest. Golladay is way too cheap on Draftkings gave their full point PPR scoring format, and is also in play on Fanduel. There is a lot of value in knowing where exactly the ball will be going, and Golladay will continue to be a target monster for the remainder of this Lions season.
TIGHT END – Cameron Brate
20th Priced Tight End on Fanduel ($4,900 out of $60,000)
13th Priced Tight End on Draftkings ($3,700 out of $50,000)
Cameron Brate finds himself in the Bargain Hunting article yet again this week as his price has barely moved on both sites. There are some nice option in the more expensive tier at tight end, but if paying down is your thing, then Brate is your guy. Brate stepped into his starting role last week with O.J. Howard out and had a solid showing hauling in a touchdown. This week he could be in for another productive day when the Bucs take on one of the worst teams in the league against the tight end in the Carolina Panthers. It is also worth mentioning that a few weeks back Brate’s counterpart O.J. Howard was able to put two touchdowns on this Carolina defense.
DEFENSE – Denver Broncos
3rd Priced Defense on Fanduel ($4,500 out of $60,000)
8th Priced Defense on Draftkings ($2,700 out of $50,000)
There are a lot of really solid, cheap options at defense this week. The team I like the most right now though is the Denver Broncos. There are priced up a bit on Fanduel, but I think you are really getting a nice deal if you use them on Draftkings. I know they will be on the road, but their matchup isn’t too imposing as they will face Jeff Driskel and the Bengals. I think the Broncos should be able to put pressure on Driskel and hopefully force the backup into making some mistakes.
