DFS Bargain Hunting: Week 10

darius slayton dfs bargain hunting week 10

Cutting coupons. It’s a tedious task. You sift through the online ads, or sit at the dining room table with your scissors and circular. You go to the store with your clippings or print outs and search for your items. It’s not fun by any means, but the work is justified by the money you save at the end of a trip. Some people will even go as far as to shop around at several stores to truly find the best deal. Some think it’s crazy. Why not fork over a little extra money to save some time? Trust me, I get it. However, I will never argue with anyone who is trying to save a little extra change, especially in DFS. And thankfully, we aren’t doing any actual grocery shopping this week. Let’s get into DFS Bargain Hunting for Week 10.

QUARTERBACK – Ryan Tannehill

DraftKings $5,100 $50,000 10.2%
Fanduel $7,200 $60,000 12%
FantasyDraft $10,100 $100,000 10.1%

Ryan Tannehill has actually injected some life into this Tennesee Titans offense. He has also been crushing from a fantasy point perspective since he took over the starting job. Over those three games, he is averaging 23.5 DraftKings points per game. That is up there with some of the highest-priced quarterbacks on the slate. This week he gets a home matchup against a Kansas City team getting Patrick Mahomes back under center. If Mahomes can knock the rust off early, the Titans may have to rely on Tannehill to stay in the game. The absence of Delanie Walker and most likely Corey Davis gives me some pause, but it could give us some cheap stacking options such as Jonnu Smith and Adam Humphries. Don’t forget Tannehill can also get it done with his legs.

RUNNINGBACK – David Montgomery

DraftKings $5,300 $50,000 10.6%
Fanduel $6,400 $60,000 10.6%
FantasyDraft $10,900 $100,000 10.9%

David Montgomery looks to have a stranglehold on the running back touches for the Chicago Bears at the moment. He has been heavily involved in both the ground game and through the air over the past two games. It looks like the Bears are finally unleashing their rookie back in an attempt to hide the struggling Mitchell Trubisky. Another piece of news that builds Montgomery’s case is the release of Mike Davis. Some will gravitate towards Ronald Jones II as a salary saving back, but I feel more confident in Montgomery’s ability to get it done.

WIDE RECEIVER – Darius Slayton

DraftKings $4,200 $50,000 8.4%
Fanduel $5,600 $60,000 9.3%
FantasyDraft $8,300 $100,000 8.3%

Rookie receiver Darius Slayton will have an increased role in the New York Giants passing attack this week. Slayton has shown the ability to make plays having scored three touchdowns this season. With Sterling Shepherd and Evan Engram both out, Slayton will have an opportunity to do even more damage. It is never fun relying on a rookie quarterback to support your value receiver and tight end, but the New York Jets defense has been abysmal. Jones also has showcased great chemistry with Slayton going all the way back into the preseason. He is well worth the price on full point PPR sites like DraftKings and FantasyDraft.

TIGHT END – Rhett Ellison

DraftKings $2,500 $50,000 5%
Fanduel $5,000 $60,000 8.3%
FantasyDraft $5,000 $100,000 5%

Two Giants in cash? What could go wrong? Rhett Ellison figures to have an expanded role this week with Evan Engram on the shelf. I think we can all agree that Ellison is not known for his receiving chops, but all that matters here is the volume he will see. Ellison is usually good for 1-2 targets a game, but when Engram has been out or has left early that number spike dramatically, reaching as high as 7. That kind of volume at this cheap of a price is hard to come by. Ellison could be the key that unlocks the high priced guys like Christian McCaffrey and Michael Thomas this week.

DEFENSE – Pittsburgh Steelers

DraftKings $2,600 $50,000 5.2%
Fanduel $4,100 $60,000 6.8%
FantasyDraft $4,600 $100,000 4.6%

All of the daily fantasy sites refuse to price up the Pittsburgh Steelers appropriately. They have failed to score double-digit points defensively only twice this season. Although they get a Rams team coming off of a bye this week, west coast teams can have difficulty on the other side of the States. Add in the fact Jared Goff can struggle at times and will also be without field stretcher Brandin Cooks and suddenly this matchup looks a little more even keel. I would not be surprised if the Steelers kept this close.
