Week 6 Dynasty Risers

ronald jones week 6 dynasty risers

Welcome back to my Dynasty Risers article for Week 6! You can think of this article as an additional dynasty trade target resource, or players you should be buying on their way up or selling on their way down. Let me know what you think by reaching out to me on Twitter after you check this out! Now let’s see who our first Dynasty Riser is!

Ryan Tannehill, QB TEN

I think the fantasy community needs to adopt a saying for players that get screwed over by their system or coach. That saying needs to be “They got Gase’d”. How bad do you have to be at coaching to make Tannehill look that bad? Maybe it’s the running game but Tanny looks like a legit quarterback asset in this league. He is currently the QB4 in ESPN’s QBR and has a 13:2 touchdown to interception ratio. He was the QB19 according to DLF’s October ADP but I have elevated him to my top 10 and think you should buy into Tannehill as top 12-15 QB in 2021. Hopefully, you hold any player that started their career under Gase. Looking at you, Sam Darnold – a QB I fully expect to be a dynasty riser as soon as he is done being Gase’d.

Ronald Jones, RB TBB
I hate that I have to put Jones in my Riser. I am a noted RoJo hater and have zero shares of this man in any of my leagues. So, it kind of kills me that he is playing well. I had him in my fallers article week 2 after he had only 24 carries and 89 yards through two weeks. In fact, he was benched for Fournette week 2 and Fournette went off for 103 yards and two touchdowns. I thought that would be the end of the RoJo truthers but no, it wasn’t. Fournette gets hurt and Rojo runs for 111, 106, and 113 yards the last three weeks and my pain continues. I still don’t believe in him long term but I can’t deny he has been good. Fournette is still there and is coming back soon so I’d suggest you sell this dynasty riser before he ends up on fallers list in a couple of weeks.

D’Andre Swift, RB DET
Just a fair warning, I’m a Lions fan. Not just any Lions fan though. I’m tainted and probably the most annoying Lions fan to other Lions fans. I think Stafford is overrated compared to his cap hit and isn’t worth extending after this season. I call for coaches to be fired 4 games into their first season, and I CERTAINLY complain about every draft pick like they were the biggest mistakes ever. Especially when they draft their 4th running back in the 2nd round in 10 years. So, when I hype a Lions player, you better believe that I think they are actually good and it’s not just me coating myself in that Honolulu Blue butter. Swift looks like an every-down back and I think the Lions are starting to realize what he can do. I think this Lions coaching staff will be gone before next season and hopefully the new staff uses a lead back role instead of this gross committee the Lions are rolling out. I have moved Swift ahead of Dobbins in my rookie rankings and I’d advise you to do the same. Swift could easily finish this year as a top 20 RB given his passing game chops and usage. Buy this dynasty riser now before he blows up in 2021 with no Patricia or Adrian Peterson.

Brandin Cooks, WR HOU

The nomad has finally gotten into a groove with Deshaun. After mostly stinkers in his first four games, Cooks has exploded the last two weeks for 17 receptions on 21 targets, 229 yards, and 2 touchdowns – good for the overall WR2 over that span. In fact, Cooks has a 50% hit rate on the season getting a touchdown or 95 yards in 3 of 6 games. If he can stay healthy, I think his pace continues and you should buy now while his value is still low. Hard to believe he is just 27 years old and has been in the league since 2014.

AJ Brown, WR TEN
He never really lost value after last season but after his week one performance and injury we hadn’t seen what AJ Brown is going to be in 2020. Since coming back from injury, however, he leads the team in all categories with 12 receptions on 16 targets, 133 yards, and 3 touchdowns. That makes him the overall WR4 spanning the last two weeks. If he continues this pace, I’m willing to bet Brown enters the top tier of WR’s with DK, Hopkins, Thomas, Adams, and Lamb at the end of the season. I am snatching up this dynasty riser in every league if I can afford him.

Rob Gronkowski, TE TBB

GRONK Smash! True story, I used to type Gronk with all caps so often that my phone always autocorrected to GRONK. It still does (Thanks a lot Watty). It looks like I’m going from one old man to the other with GRONK this week and Graham in week five. Everyone’s favorite meathead had his first good game since 2018. He led the team in targets, receptions, yards, and touchdowns. It wasn’t an amazing game but his 5/78/1 line was a good sign that he should be more involved going forward. I’m not sold he will be the top 3 tight end of old but if he gets 5-8 targets a game, I like him to finish as a top 10 tight end in 2020. As a bonus, this dynasty riser is probably dirt cheap in every league.
