Buy Low, Sell High: Week 10

Weekly Fantasy Football Rankings

I can’t believe that there are only 4 weeks left in the fantasy regular season. For most of you, your trade deadline is fast approaching. If your team needs help to make it through the stretch run, you have come to the right place! Here are the guys I think need to be moved, detailed in my Buy Low, Sell High: Week 10.

Marcus Mariota

Mariota will be a cheap commodity right now. He has been up and down all season but is now healthy and aided by the return of Corey Davis. He doesn’t have best matchups over the next two weeks but after that, it gets very good. His last 5 games relevant to fantasy are the Colts, Texans, Cardinals, 49ers, and Rams. The first four represent bottom-6 pass defenses in the league. Outside of the Rams, those teams are all limited offensively as well so Mariota should find the entire playbook open to him. Start him with confidence for your late-season run.

Tom Brady

Hear me out, Tom Terrific has 2 games coming up with the arch-rival Buffalo Bills, who have held Matt Ryan, Cam Newton, and Derek Carr to under 20 fantasy points. Those games being played outdoors also limits Brady’s upside. A savvy player could get a top-notch return for the Hall of Famer for the stretch run.

Running Backs

Kareem Hunt

Folks here is your chance to land a top-5 runner. Hunt owners have watched his numbers steadily decline each week for the past 5 weeks. He has not cracked 100 yards on the ground but has still managed at least 14 touches in each game. If an owner is near or below the .500 mark, they may be feeling antsy with the Chiefs being on a bye week. The Chiefs have a very favorable schedule with only one team (Bills) owning a winning record. Look for Kansas City to get back to pounding the rock with Hunt at the forefront.

Aaron Jones

Aaron Jones is the lead back in Green Bay but with the injury to starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga, expect a regression in the running game. Ty Montgomery is getting healthier by the week and could vulture some touches away from Jones. Given the overall lack of upside for the Packers offense with so many pieces missing, it is best to cash in on Jones now while there is still some recency bias for him.

Wide Receivers

NFL Week 6 Injury Report

Stefon Diggs

The return of Teddy Bridgewater has people in Minnesota talking but Stefon Diggs has a chance to make a big impact down the stretch. Despite basically missing 3 games with an injury, Diggs has 3 games with at least 90 yards and 2 two-touchdown games. Diggs emerged as the clear-cut number 1 receiver for the Vikings and has some potential shootout games ahead. The Vikings will play 3 games inside a dome and face high powered offenses such as the Rams, Lions, Falcons, and Panthers. The price is low for Diggs right now after he inexplicably laid an egg vs. Cleveland. Don’t expect more of that going forward.

DeAndre Hopkins

Hopkins has seen his career revived with the arrival of Deshaun Watson and an absent Texan’s defense. His time is coming to end I’m afraid as Houston begins the quarterback carousel. He has a date with Patrick Peterson in 2 weeks and faces Jacksonville/Pittsburgh in what would be the fantasy championship round for most folks. He managed to pull in a touchdown against the hapless Colts last week so his value stands for the time being. Ship him away now for a top-end player.
