Fantasy Football Flex Rankings: Week 2

The Fantasy Authority has you covered with who to start in your flex for Week 2!

devin singletary flex rankings week 2

It’s only Week 2, so it’s no time for panic or victory laps. You have your preseason convictions, and it’s probably a good idea to stick by them – #TrustTheProcess. That said, there were some noteworthy things that happened in Week 1 that we can’t ignore. The Fantasy Authority has done a great job of keeping you on top of it. Our waiver wire column is as extensive as any out there. You’ll also see me reference our snap count article several times.

As always, I devise these flex rankings using WR21-35 and RB21-35 from our weekly Half PPR ranks, as well as some suggestions from Twitter users who are featured below. If I don’t solve your quandary, feel free to ask me on Twitter: @Dan_Haas or join our Slack community! Let’s get to my flex rankings for week 2!

1 Matt Breida (SF – RB) at CIN – In the nine games last year where Matt Breida saw at least 10 carries, he averaged 15.7 touches for 94 yards and 0.44 touchdowns, per @4for4_John
2 Josh Gordon (NE – WR) at MIA – Not expecting Brown to threaten his target share in their first week together…if AB even plays
3 Stefon Diggs (MIN – WR) @ GB – Diggs looked healthy in Week 1—the two targets were a result of positive game script resulting in just 10 passing attempts by the Vikings
4 Calvin Ridley (ATL – WR) vs. PHI – From @Lakics89 on Twitter
5 Duke Johnson (HOU – RB) vs. JAC
6 Devonta Freeman (ATL – RB) vs. PHI – Freeman’s 50% snap share from Week 1 worries me, but you should still roll the dice with your third round pick this early in the season
7 Kenny Golladay (DET – WR) vs. LAC
8 LeSean McCoy (KC – RB) at OAK – McCoy sure looked spry in Week 1—I’ll cop to being wrong here
9 Alshon Jeffery (PHI – WR) at ATL
10 Aaron Jones (GB – RB) vs. MIN – A tough matchup in Week 2 and only saw 59% of snaps in Week 1, which is certainly not what his drafters were hoping for coming into the season
11 James White (NE – RB) at MIA – Seeing as the Pats are 19-point favorites on the road, game script would indicate a Sony Michel game
12 Evan Engram (NYG – TE) vs. BUF – From @EricSosnoff_FF on Twitter
13 Allen Robinson (CHI – WR) at DEN – Looked great in Week 1, but not yet back to matchup-proof status
14 Tyler Boyd (CIN – WR) vs. SF
15 Tyrell Williams (OAK – WR) vs. KC
16 Devin Singletary (BUF – RB) at NYG– Rookie RB saw 70% of the team’s snaps in Week 1, which only indicates how highly they think of him—expect more touches going forward
17 Miles Sanders (PHI – RB) at ATL– The Falcons are the league’s worst defense against receiving running backs over the past two seasons, and Sanders saw 48% of the team’s snaps in Week 1, including two targets
18 David Montgomery (CHI – RB) at DEN – This is a bit of a gut call, but my guess is that Nagy will aim to use Monty more in Week 2
19 Michael Gallup (DAL – WR) at WAS – Monster Week 1, as predicted by yours truly, but consistency will be key for his breakout
20 Giovani Bernard (CIN – RB) vs. SF – In the four games that Joe Mixon has missed in 2017 and 2018, Bernard averaged 17.5 touches for 89 yards and 1.0 touchdowns, which works out to a stellar 17.1 fantasy points per game in half-PPR formats, per @4for4_John
21 Tarik Cohen (CHI – RB) at DEN – Cohen saw 70% of the Bears’ offensive snaps in Week 1 and if that continues, it’s only a matter of time before he busts a long gain
22 Jarvis Landry (CLE – WR) at NYJ
23 Jamison Crowder (NYJ – WR) vs. CLE – Week 1 check-down machine will probably be busy in the same capacity in Week 2 with Siemian under center
24 DeSean Jackson (PHI – WR) at ATL
25 Phillip Lindsay (DEN – RB) vs. CHI– 53/47 split with Freeman in Week 1 and scary matchup versus the Bears this week
26 John Ross (CIN – WR) vs. SF – From @letzgoterps on Twitter
27 Adrian Peterson (WAS – RB) vs. DAL – He’s 34-years old and plays on one of the worst offenses in the NFL—I’d have Thompson higher if I could because I expect them to be trailing
28 Latavius Murray (NO – RB) at LAR – Murray saw just six carries in Week 1—this isn’t an Ingram/Kamara thing
29 John Brown (BUF – WR) at NYG
30 Larry Fitzgerald (ARI – WR) at BAL
31 Mark Andrews (BAL – TE) vs. ARI – In Week 1, “Efficiency Gawd” Andrews led the Ravens in pass routes (18) and targets (8)
32 Malcolm Brown (LAR – RB) vs. NO – From @jdubalina on Twitter
33 Delanie Walker (TEN – TE) vs. IND – From @soulreaper313 on Twitter
34 Robby Anderson (NYJ – WR) vs. CLE – Whether it’s Trevor Siemian or Luke Falk, it’s hard to trust either guy to utilize Anderson’s skillset
35 Joe Mixon (CIN – RB) vs. SF – Even if he plays, he’ll probably be on a reduced snap count

One more name to keep an eye on: Deon Cain. He doesn’t technically qualify for this list based on the parameters I set, but Cain’s role is about to grow with Devin Funchess’s injury. I raved about him in the preseason.

And finally, a little bit of fun. Below are my flex rankings of the best sitcoms from the 90’s and 00’s—cartoons excluded.

1 Seinfeld
2 Scrubs
3 The Office
4 That 70’s Show
5 Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
6 Malcolm in the Middle
7 Boy Meets World
8 Parks & Rec
9 Home Improvement
10 Dinosaurs
