Last week we went 8-8 in the 16 matchups and now stand at 16-16 for the season! Let us dive into the Week 3 NFL Matchups, shall we?
Miami Dolphins vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Gardner Minshew vs. Dolphins Secondary
The hottest name in the NFL, Gardner Minshew, continues his revenge tour on everyone doubting him and the Jaguars this year. We already had Trevor Lawrence in the Jaguars teal and he looked glorious but Minshew ain’t having that! Look for Minshew to have a big game tonight even without his top target D.J. Chark, as Miami will be without Byron Jones.
*Update: FitzMagic > Minshew’s Moustache
Sunday 1 P.M. Games
Chicago Bears vs. Atlanta Falcons
Mitchell Trubisky vs. Falcons Defense
I am telling you to start Trubisky this week. Just hear me out before you freak out, alright? This year the Falcons have given up 31 and 40 points respectively. Yes, they were to Russell Wilson and Dak Prescott, but if you can get 20-25 points out of Trubisky that is a major dub.
Los Angeles Rams vs. Buffalo Bills
Buffalo Defense vs. Rams Offense
The Rams have had a fun and hot start on offense for the year but the Buffalo Bills seem to be firing on all cylinders so far. Keep an eye on whether or not starting linebackers Matt Milano and Tremaine Edmunds suit up for this game. Even just having one of them out there will be a big boost to the Bills’ defense.
Washington Football Team vs. Cleveland Browns
Browns OL vs. Washington DL
Top picks go against each other on one end of the line and on the other we may or may not have Jack Conklin which is the key to this matchup. If the Browns have Conklin then I think they get the upper hand but without it then I think Washington makes it a long day for Baker Mayfield and the Browns.
Tennessee Titans vs. Minnesota Vikings
Derrick Henry vs. Vikings Defense
We finally get the top ten startup and redraft pick Derrick Henry we have all been waiting for. Last week Jonathan Taylor made his successful debut as the Colts’ starting back to the league and in week one it was Aaron Rodgers and his offense. I think Henry hits the century mark and maybe even gets close to 150…
Las Vegas Raiders vs. New England Patriots
Darren Waller vs. Patriots LBs
This season the Patriots have given up an average of 1.5 fantasy points to tight ends, but Waller is not Greg Olsen or Mike Gesicki. I think Waller continues his hot start and has another top tight end fantasy week as the fighting Gruden’s continue their hot start.
Knock on wood if you’re with me.
San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Giants
49ers vs. Metlife Stadium
I would stay away from any 49ers this week after the whole offense was sent to the trainer’s room or worse – the operating room. I don’t say this to be ignorant I say this as an analyst, mentally they will be thinking about this field all week and especially all day Sunday so I am out on this offense as a whole.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Miles Sanders vs. Bengals LBs
Last week the Browns ran all over the Bengals, with almost every receiver in the facility hurt for Carson Wentz I expect a big workload for Sanders from coach Doug Pederson. Big week for the once Saquan Barkley backup.
Houston Texans vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Steelers Defense vs. Texans Offense
We may be seeing an all-time defense in the Steel City, as this Steelers defense is on a different level right now. The Texans offense is really missing Deandre Hopkins and Deshaun Watson can only play superman on so many plays. Pair that up with a shell of himself David Johnson then we have one big Mr. Yuck sticker on this offense.
4 P.M. Games
New York Jets vs. Indianapolis Colts
Jonathan Taylor vs. New York Jets
Last week we saw Taylor break onto the scene in the absence of Marlon Mack and with the Jets lined up for this week I would expect much of the same. I would like to see him more involved in the passing game, but even as just the primary runner Taylor is a fun start this week.
Carolina Panthers vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Justin Herbert vs. Panthers Defense
A full week to prepare for a young defense should mean we see another big week from Herbert and the Chargers offense. At the very least we should get some average return from Herbert but I think he is a low buy with high upside this week with QB1 potential.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Denver Broncos
Buccaneers Defense vs. Jeff Driskel
Lots of “stay away” orders for offenses this week which may be tough but no Drew Lock and no Courtland Sutton means we will have a whole new offense this week and beyond as Denver recovers. The Buccaneers should be a cheap DFS play and waiver wire pickup and I would take full advantage of that.
Detroit Lions vs. Arizona Cardinals
DeAndre Hopkins vs. Lions Secondary
I expect this to get nasty early for the Lions. Kyler Murray is on a roll and some major help has been provided with the addition of Hopkins. I expect more of a heavy dose of Murray and Hopkins this week as the door continues to close on Matt Patricia in Detroit.
Dallas Cowboys vs. Seattle Seahawks
Greg Olsen vs. Dallas LBs
Greg Olsen had a decent week one with targets and finding the endzone before playing New England and getting cut out of the gameplan. Mr. Unlimited likes targeting tight ends and Olsen seems to have some gas left in the tank so I think we see a good week from a guy who is probably on your league’s waiver wire.
Sunday Night Game
Green Bay Packers vs. New Orleans Saints
Demario Davis vs. Aaron Jones
The Saints neutralized Ronald Jones, Leonard Fournette, and the Panthers running backs as a whole. With that in mind, I think this sets up to be an Aaron Rodgers game and not an Aaron Jones game because of the way this Saints defense is upfront and against the run so while I buy Rodgers I sell Jones.
Monday Night Game
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Baltimore Ravens
Pat Mahomes vs. Lamar Jackson
No breakdown, no suggestions, just sit back and enjoy this game as this breaks some viewership records during a time it isn’t supposed to because Larry from North Carolina isn’t watching football and missing out on this glorious game.
