Week 5 Defense Streamers

week 5 defense streamers

The #StreamTeam is back with a substitution for Week 5 as Cody joins Robby and Ben to hit you with our Week 5 Defense Streamers. After you check out this article head over and see our full Week 5 Waiver Wire article!

Ben – Arizona Cardinals (ESPN Roster %: 42.3)

Arizona is playing the Jets. It might be lazy of me to continuously chase matchups against the Jets every week, but I’m going to do it until that offense proves they can be a threat to an opposing defense. Defenses against the Jets have put up more than six points every game this season and I don’t expect this game to be any different. It may be hard to believe that the Jets offense could get any worse, but if Sam Darnold misses this week due to his shoulder injury it won’t be pretty. The Cardinals defense is probably on your waiver wire so pick them up and slot them in for Week Five.

Robby – Kansas City Chiefs (ESPN Roster %: 33.7)

KC put on a show against a pair of backup QBs in Brian Hoyer and Jarrett Stidham. They will face a slightly tougher opponent in Derek Carr and company but they are still a great streamer for Week 5. KC is getting to the quarterback at a clip of three times per game and they also force at least one turnover per game. If that’s not a good enough base level of points, they also allow the second-fewest points per game with 17.5 and haven’t allowed an opponent to pass the 20 point threshold all season. They are a safe stream at D/ST with plenty of upside.

Cody – Miami Dolphins (ESPN Roster %: 1)

Welp. The early bird gets the worm and I’m clearly the last to the wormhole. It is an ugly week to have to stream a defense but if Jimmy Garoppolo stays sidelined for Week 5 and Byron Jones returns for the ‘Fins, it could be worse. The Dolphins do have 2 interceptions, 4 forced fumbles, and 9 sacks on the year. Cross your fingers that one of the two above options are available, or just pinch your nose and pray for another Mullens/Beathard game if you’re forced to swim with the Fins.
