The #StreamTeam is back with a substitution for Week 5 as Cody joins Robby and Ben to hit you with our Week 5 Quarterback Streamers. After you check out this article head over and see our full Week 5 Waiver Wire article!
Ben – Kirk Cousins (ESPN Roster %: 15.7)
Kirk Cousins is in for a big week in week 5 against the Seahawks. The Seahawks secondary has been awful all season and has let up an average of 28.5 fantasy points to quarterbacks through four weeks. In a game where I expect the Vikings to be chasing points, Kirk Cousins should be passing the ball more often than they normally do. Combine all of this with the emergence of Justin Jefferson and I feel confident rolling out Kirk this week.
Robby – Teddy Bridgewater (ESPN Roster %: 12.8)
The Falcons secondary has been banged up all season and it shows as they allow the most points to the QB position through four weeks. They have allowed at least 299 passing yards in every single game, on top of allowing a league-leading 13 passing touchdowns. Bridgewater is coming off his best game of the season vs. Arizona where he was the QB4 overall. He is pushing the ball down the field this season to the likes of DJ Moore and Robby Anderson, as he is tied for 11th in yards per attempt. He is 7th in passing yards per game with 287 yards and I expect he eclipses the 300-yard mark against the Falcons secondary.
Cody – Gardner Minshew (ESPN Roster %: 46)
Since Ben and Robby hit you with two quarterbacks who are rostered in less than 20% of ESPN leagues, I’ll take the low-hanging fruit here. Minshew has over 330-yards and multiple touchdowns in two of his last three games and now gets a subpar Texans’ defense. Houston ranks 19th in Football Outsider’s pass DVOA metric and have PFF’s sixth-worst coverage grade. With Chark back in the lineup, Minshew should continue to be a more-than-serviceable streaming option.
